Whether you are jetting off abroad with your family or planning a relaxing trip for just the two of you, it is essential that you take vital steps to ensure that the trip runs smoothly so that you can enjoy some romantic time together. Read our top tips to ensure that your holiday is as hot and steamy as possible this summer.

1. Sort out the sleeping arrangements

There's nothing worse than turning up to your dream holiday villa with your new boyfriend to discover that the walls are paper-thin and your bedroom is directly adjacent to his parent's room. Or realising that after booking a family room for you both and your child, that the baby cot is located literally at the end of your bed. Both situations spell out the same conclusion - no sex for you this holiday! Make sure you investigate the sleeping situation in advance of booking so that you don't end up with this problem.

2. Pack the essentials

As well as the sun-cream and bikini, there are a host of sex essentials that you might want to pack in your case to ensure that your holiday ends with a bang (literally). Depending on where you are travelling to, condoms may not be available to purchase easily; so make sure you pack plenty to make sure that you are not caught short towards the end of the holiday. Lube could also be useful in hot climates where you might need help with a bit of extra lubrication, and why not make it a flavoured lube just in case some oral sex is on the cards!

3. Switch off your life back home

Holidays are a time to relax and recharge from the stresses of day-to-day life. They are also a time to give 100% attention to your relationship while spending quality time with the person you love. Therefore, make sure that you give your phone a rest and switch it off for the week/fortnight if you can. You can't possibly enjoy yourself fully if you are constantly on Instagram or Facebooking at every available moment. There will be plenty of time to upload your couple selfies and hot-dog leg snaps on the transfer back to the airport.

4. Don't plan too much

Although it's nice to have a few activities planned during your trip; it's also nice to have some free days and nights available so you can be spontaneous and go where the mood takes you. If you are holidaying with friends or family, make sure that you have at least a couple of free nights for just the two of you to go out alone; or even better yet, stay in your room with some exotic food and a pleasure set!

5. It's not the time to hold a grudge

Despite all efforts to plan a holiday made in heaven, there are bound to be times when temperatures rise and you exchange some heated words with your partner. Spending constant time with someone for a period of time can flare up minor arguments and disagreements, but make sure that these are nipped in the bud as soon as possible so that you can get back to holiday fun. Don't let an argument drag on and end up ruining a fantastic holiday. If you feel like you need a little break from your partner, take a walk alone to stock up on supplies or suggest that they go and treat themselves to a massage so that you can have an hour to yourself to get over it.
